I typically fly into destinations a day or two early, giving myself time to scout locations, adjust to the light, and prepare for the magic that awaits. But on this trip, the universe had other plans. Flight after flight was cancelled. Delay after delay piled up. With each notification, my heart sank a little deeper as I watched the clock tick closer to the moment that couldn't be missed.
The stress was palpable. Hours passed in airport lounges, eyes glued to departure boards, silently praying I'd make it in time. The thought of missing this once-in-a-lifetime moment for this couple—it weighed heavily on me.
But Hawaii, it seems, had other ideas. With determination matching the couple's own, I finally touched down in Oahu just hours before the proposal was set to take place. Exhausted but incredibly grateful, I grabbed my gear and headed straight to the beach.

Lanikai Beach in Oahu is, without exaggeration, one of the most breathtaking beaches on Earth. With its powder-soft white sand, water so turquoise it seems almost painted, and the iconic Mokulua Islands rising from the horizon like sentinels of love, it was the perfect backdrop for this moment.
